Technology Frustration

It really baffles my mind how wide and high and deep and ridiculous is the range of knowledge in regards to this one subject. I suppose I should specify, the range of knowledge within one professional setting: education. Technology has changed and so radically advanced in the last few years that the common man (again, mainly speaking of educators) has been unable to keep up the pace. Sure, there are the few, tech savvy throughout the field, but for the most part, even young educators are seem unable to learn at the speed at which technology advances. By the time the majority finally learned PowerPoint, there were smart boards. When teachers began using tables to organize report cards, excel came out and then Mac's Numbers. And on a more personal note: I thought I was cool for making my shopping list on my Blackberry, but I saw on a Brookstone catalog a voice-recording shopping list maker that organizes all items by category (dairy, veggies, etc) and then prints it out.

I guess my point is, though I suppose I could just rant, that we better get with the program or our children are going to start falling behind and only the few and select will rule the world... oh, wait. Dang it!
