Website or blog?

I just realized that back in February I had started a google site to share with family. I never shared it, unsure if anyone would read it, if I would keep up with it, or if that was the forum I wanted to use.  I updated it yesterday, but I'm still unsure. With two months, one week and approximately six days until Sofía arrives, I want to have made a decision about this so I have an easy way to share with family what is happening with her and share pictures. Though facebook is a possibility, it's not ideal for more private sharing. Sharing through blogger is another option, as I can easily post pictures and even slideshows on here, write blogs about our family events and get comments from the family. We'll see. Blogger might win.

I really wanted to be impressed with the google site, but I wasn't. It's simple and ugly, though maybe that's due to my inability to figure it out. I might play with it some more or check out other people that are using it in better ways than I seem to be able to. I have iweb on the mac, so it would be awesome to have an iweb page, because they're much prettier and easy to update, upload pictures, etc. But I think for an iweb page I'd have to pay to publish. I don't want to pay when there are so many free things out there.

Any ideas on this would be fantastic.
